NAG 2016, Art Factory @ Make a Point

NAG 2016 – Art Factory @ Make a Point

Art Factory is an itinerant gallery project and a contemporary art festival that aims to bring in the social consciousness the fate of heritage buildings and brownfield sites that are abandoned to decay, by  proposing temporary cultural conversion curatorial projects.

The exhibition at the Romanian Cloth Factory that will take place from September 23rd to October 2nd is meant to disseminate Exposhortfest – Art Factory 2016, a project co-funded by AFCN.

At the White Night of the Art Galleries we will present a selection of the Art Factory festival exhibiting artists, which will take place this year in Baicoi in the CAMPEXIP plant, between the 2nd and the 4th of September.

On this occasion we will launch the Art Factory catalogue, which will include the 16 artists present in this years’ event, their works and the concepts behind them.

The exhibition will include light installations which will be placed in the hall of the former cloth factory, as well as in the Art Tower.

The thematic of the exhibition will explore the “traces left by humans on their environment”. By environment we understand nature, others or the self. Man, in his search of finding an identity and of placing himself in the world, molds it, molds himself and molds others. One of the means man uses to negotiate with his surroundings is drawing, which becomes a tool for self-knowledge. The exhibition we present within Art Factory examines the traces left by man in this process of searching for a self.

The invited artists are:

Vlad Bota, Andra Vlăsceanu, Claudia Ilea, Emanuela Voinescu, Florina Oprescu, Ana Toma, Flavia Popescu, Luminița Dumitrache, Răzvan Hogea, Roxana Tănase, Ariana Hodorcă, Andra Nedelcu, Smaranda Tulea, Alina Anca, Răzvan Pascu, Bogdan Topîrceanu.

The exhibition will be open daily from 18:00 to 22:00.
